Proof Commemorative Two and Five Pengo pattern coins designed for the Kingdom of Hungary during the Regency Period. These are among the most difficult of all the Hungarian restrikes to obtain in mint condition. This set includes six coins – three Rounds and three Klippes exhibiting light peripheral toning. We in specialize Hungarian proof restrikes and for years have supplied superb examples to dealers and collectors around the world. All are rare, struck in limited numbers for export by ARTEX the Hungarian Foreign Trading Company – approximately 1000 pieces of each were minted. This set has been bank vaulted since it was issued. We removed the coins for the first time in 50 years. We noted that the styrofoam holding the coins between the plexiglass had begun to separate. We photographed the mirror proof coins for your evaluation and have placed them in archival flips. The now empty case will be sent with the coins. As indicated, all are as issued from ARTEX – brilliant proofs exhibiting light peripheral toning. The 1938 round 5 Pengo shows a light obverse hairline which we have captured in our photos.
