The box is in remarkably nice condition for its size and age. Its firmly sealed and tight, not mushy like some boxes become. On one of the sides written in pencil is the date, 2-3-62. I dont know if this is the date that the original owner received the box, or if its indicative of anything relevant. So February of 62 would seem very early by comparison. To say they are scarce is an understatement. Somewhere along the line one of previous owners most likely searched the set for the better coins and cameos.
