This two-coin set is the product of a joint effort from the United States Mint (USM) and the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) – a monumental first in numismatic history. The set will contain one iconic 1 oz. Silver coin from each issuing nation, both featuring first-ever, never-before-seen finishes in the respective series. The Maple will feature a modified Proof finish while the Silver Eagle will feature an enhanced reverse proof finish! The two mints have together determined a mintage of just 100,000 sets to be released by the USM and only 10,000 to be released by the RCM. Not only will this historic set have one of the lowest mintage Silver Eagles ever released by the USM, but sets issued by the RCM present one of the smallest set pedigrees of Silver Eagles ever seen! This set is one of only 10,000 issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. Never Before Seen Finishes – Two Iconic Series. The USM contributed Silver Eagle was struck at the West Point Mint and features its prestigious “W” Mint mark. While the reverse features the same, iconic Heraldic Eagle design, crafted by John Mercanti, as the rest of the American Silver Eagle series, its finish is one never-before-seen on a Silver Eagle- a striking enhanced reverse proof finish. The effect of the finish allows for a detailed arrangement of frosted, semi-frosted, and mirrored portions of the design for a truly unique twist on an iconic design. The Silver Maple Leaf provided by the RCM also features a familiar reverse design a sugar Maple Leaf designed by Walter Ott. However, this special Maple Leaf will also feature a never-before seen finish in the series- a “Modified Proof” finish.
