About the Coin: Beatrix Potter’s mischevious Tom Kitten appears on the reverse of this coloured silver proof coin. This is the second series of Beatrix Potter coins and only 40,000 of these coins have been produced. 1 The first and only official UK coin to feature Tom Kitten 2 Struck in 925 sterling silver and finished to Proof standard 3 Enhanced by colour printing 4 Presented in a clear acrylic case This coin has an error on it when it left the Royal Mint. This is a One-Of-A-Kind error in the minting process. The printed component on the coin has been rotated to the right , you can see from Tom’s ears that the colour has spilled over to the right of his ears (and also his face). Some coins have left rotation of the print, this is the only one I’ve seen with right sided print offset. This coin is a rarity, that collectors would have a keen interest in.
