Each coin is struck in. 925 sterling silver and issued as a Piedfort – meaning double the thickness and weight of a standard proof coin, giving both pieces an impressive, substantial feel in hand. Both coins are in exceptional condition, showcasing superb proof detail and mirror-like fields. With low mintages of only 12,500 (1994) and 9,500 (1995), these Piedforts are increasingly hard to find and highly sought after by collectors of British silver and Royal Mint issues.
