Up for sale today is this 1953 US Mint Silver Proof Set. These sets are becoming hard to find in quality condition. I hand selected each coin in this set based on overall eye appeal. When choosing a set it’s important to look at each coin because many of these sets over the years have been improperly stored and/or mishandled, Thus, it’s often difficult to obtain a set where all of the coins are problem free with no distractions. This set is from my personal collection. First up is the Franklin Half Dollar. This coin is what I would call gem Brilliant with deep mirrors. The obverse exhibits a very light golden tone developing along the rim. The reverse is blast white. Overall a superb example. Next up is the proof Washington Quarter. This coin exhibits deep mirrors and is blast white on both the obverse and reverse. The obverse exhibits an ever so light haze in the fields. Overall a very nice example. Up next is the Roosevelt proof Dime which exhibits an attractive golden toning on the obverse from 11:30 and fading out underneath In God we Trust (7:00). This coin is a brilliant gem. Next is the Jefferson Nickel. This coin is a brilliant gem, and exhibits what I would refer to as a gun metal appearance on both sides. Overall a problem free example. Lastly, is the Lincoln proof. This coin exhibits reflective mirrors and is Bright Red on both sides. The reverse exhibits a distraction above the E and to the left in E Pluribus where the rim meets the field. Overall this is a nice example. This concludes my critique. If you find other sellers not including this information, ask for it. Doing so may avoid disappointment.
